Sexual Health

Sexuality is your perception of yourself as a sexual being, who you are attracted to and choose to be sexual with, and what you choose and want to do sexually.

Cancer treatment can affect sexuality, often resulting in a loss of libido (sex drive), difficulty maintaining an erection, and premature menopausal symptoms such as vaginal dryness, hot flashes, problems sleeping and irritability. If you are experiencing these issues, inform your health care provider.

Your doctor and nurse may prescribe medication or recommend lubricants and creams to treat these changes to your body.
