Our Nurses, Our Future
Nursing is part of the Collaborative Academic Practice (CAP) portfolio led by Pam Hubley, Vice President & Chief Nurse Executive.
Dynamic leadership, innovative education, supportive professional development! These are just a few of the ways University Health Network supports a positive work environment for nurses. UHN has 5,000 nursing staff and more than 1,300 nursing students completing their clinical placements each year.
Our nurses are supported by a strong leadership team consisting of Nurse Managers, Patient Care Coordinators, Directors, Advanced Practice Nurse Educators, Nursing Administration Coordinators, Nurse Clinicians and Advanced Practice Nurses.
One of the highlights of Nursing at UHN is our patient-centred approach to caring for patients and families. Our professional practice model puts patients first and provides a foundation for excellence in patient care, research and education.
Inspire: UHN's New Nursing Strategy
UHN is pleased to present our new Nursing Strategy. This five-year plan was co-created by a diverse group of nurses from across our organization. We have defined the four strategic priorities which are fundamental to the future of Nursing at UHN; each articulates a roadmap for specific actions and initiatives that we will cultivate, implement and advance together to strengthen and elevate Nursing at UHN.
Donor support will help the Nursing Program address some of their highest priorities, including providing mentorship opportunities for newly hired nurses, supporting nurses in career advancement and development, and fostering a culture of research and innovation within the nursing profession.
