UHN has more than 3,500 nursing staff and more than 1,300 nursing students completing their clinical placements each year.
Our nurses are supported by a strong leadership team consisting of Nurse Managers, Patient Care Coordinators, Directors, Advanced Practice Nurse Educators, Nursing Administration Coordinators, Nurse Clinicians and Advanced Practice Nurses.
One of the highlights of Nursing at UHN is our patient-centred approach to caring for patients and families. Our professional practice model puts patients first and provides a foundation for excellence in patient care, research and education.
A registered nurse for over 30 years, Pam has held progressive leadership positions in health care. She has held clinical and administrative roles throughout her career and has worked as a policy advisor for the Ministry of Health and in academia. Pam is a strengths-based, solution-oriented Executive who values people and innovation. She is a change leader who strives for excellence in all she does and continues to strengthen health care systems in collaboration with others
Pam is a collaborator on various research projects. Currently she is a co-PI in a CIHR/SSHRC grant "Transforming Nurses' Work Environments through a Strength-Based Leadership and management Training Program." Previously she has been engaged in projects that advance our understanding of nurses' work environments, implementation of best practices in clinical care, children's pain experiences, and the introduction of advanced practice nursing roles in health care settings
