Executive message

University Health Network has grown to be one of the largest research and teaching hospital networks in Canada – pioneers in improving the lives of patients. Our long history of health professions education at Toronto General, Toronto Western, Princess Margaret and Toronto Rehab hospitals have consistently advanced the science of education.

In 2016, UHN integrated with The Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences, bringing together a diploma-granting health care education institution with an academic health sciences network within a single organization for the first time in Canada. Today, as the integrated Michener Institute of Education at UHN, we work to anticipate the health care needs of the future by formally bringing research, education and clinical practice together to improve patient care.

If you are joining us as a learner, welcome! We sincerely hope your experience with The Michener Institute of Education at UHN inspires a passion for lifelong learning.

To our many educators who are living out that passion by teaching and advancing education scholarship every day, thank you for your unique and vital contribution to Canadian health care.
