Toronto Rehabilitation Institute Libraries

Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (TR) began as several separate organizations. Medical libraries were established to support staff for each organization. A major supporter of libraries was Dr. Ian Ross, chair of the staff library committee from the mid 1970s to mid 1980s at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He spearheaded the inception of the health science library and was a valued advocate and donor until his death in the spring of 1996.

Throughout the development of TR, libraries coordinated their services and worked together as one system to support patient care and research.
