We invite units across UHN to display our five #MutualRespect posters developed by the Workplace Violence Prevention team. These posters were created following an in-depth environmental scan of environmental indicators at other healthcare institutions and emphasize trauma-informed language to support harm reduction, risk minimization and mutual respect. Recognizing the diversity of our patient population, we intentionally avoided harsh or triggering language such as "zero-tolerance," which may inadvertently escalate distress. Instead, we focused on compassionate communication aligned with evidence-based approaches and input from UHN experts in imaging, language and accessibility. We welcome your unit to post these materials to help foster a safer, more respectful environment for patients, visitors and staff.
