The Leukemia Site Group at Princess Margaret is the largest program of its kind in Canada and one of the largest in North America. It is the only comprehensive leukemia program in the Greater Toronto Area. With a team of over 40 staff and the largest inpatient leukemia unit in the country, our group assesses and treats adults with acute and chronic leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative neoplasms. We provide cutting-edge and novel treatment options.

Our internationally recognized inter-professional team consists of hematologists, medical oncologists, nurse practitioners, nurses and other allied health professionals. Committed to excellence in comprehensive patient care, the team works collaboratively to consider each patient’s individual needs and circumstances throughout the cancer experience, while also advancing a major focus on leukemia research and education with the goal of improving leukemia diagnosis and treatment.

Not only is the leukemia program recognized for ground-breaking basic leukemia research, but our clinical trials program is the most comprehensive in the country, with our staff taking a leadership role in designing and conducting Phase I, II, and international Phase III trials designed to change practice in the management of leukemia.
