About Audiologists

Audiology1Audiologists are health professionals who identify, diagnose and manage individuals with peripheral or central hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders. In Ontario, audiologists are governed by the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO), a regulatory body that requires an audiologist to meet requirements to practice.

In Ontario, only audiologists and physicians are allowed to prescribe hearing aids. Audiologists assess hearing, prescribe and dispense hearing aids and other assistive listening devices and provide training for their use.
