What We Do

The Short Term Care Unit provides care and treatment to patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses. Treatments at the Short Term Care Unit can include radioactive therapies, surgical oncology, medical oncology, and clinical trials. There are 20 beds in the Short Term Care Unit. Generally, the length of stay for patients is one to five days. The unit is open Monday morning through to Friday afternoon.

You need to be seen and admitted by a doctor at UHN to become a patient on 18B inpatient unit.

In the 18B – Short Term Care Unit, a team of health care professionals will care for you during your stay and help you prepare for your discharge.
