What We Do

The Cardiology Inpatient Unit cares for patients with a heart condition, who require all levels of assessment, diagnosis and intervention. Our unit is unique because it is managed by Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (registered nurses with advanced training) who bring together the medical knowledge needed to treat cardiac conditions, with the values and skills of nursing.

The majority of patients have been diagnosed with:

  • Acute Coronary Syndrome
  • Arrhythmias
  • Cardiomyopathy
  • Congenital heart defects
  • Heart Failure
