Clinical Observerships/Authorized Guests

UHN is committed to fostering an environment for academic learning and sharing knowledge. We are proud to welcome observers from around the world. The Clinical Observerships Program welcomes approximately 1,500 observers per year. The Clinical Observership Program at UHN provides a valuable learning experience for individuals who have a passion for health care and healthcare education.

Observers at UHN must adhere to applicable public health and UHN restrictions and policies in place at the time of their Observership. Due to the fluctuating nature of the pandemic, observers should expect that observerships will be adjusted, and may be cancelled, based on community and hospital COVID-19 activity, clinical demands and the needs of UHN and its patients. In-person observers must monitor their own health status and must not attend if symptomatic in any way. Vaccinations are required at all University Health Network sites in accordance with UHN policy. Observers must be prepared to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination when asked and wear a mask at all times. Please check our COVID-19 information site for further details and updates.
