Strongly believing in social accountability and access to health care education, UHN ice proudly supports the Toronto Addis Ababa Academic Collaboration (TAAAC). TAAAC assists Addis ​Ababa University (AAU) in Ethiopia to build and strengthen capacity in medicine, the health professions, nursing and non-health care professions. TAAAC, run jointly by the University of Toronto (UofT) in Canada and AAU, includes academic collaborations among several departments across the UofT, including Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Nursing, Internal Medicine, Family and Community Medicine, Library Services, Engineering, Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Rehabilitation and Anaesthesia.

In 2013, TAAPP had its 10th​ anniversary, and TAAAC had its 5th​. In celebration of these successful partnerships with AAU, the University of Toronto hosted a Gala and Symposium.
