About Project Aspire, the Toronto Western Hospitalnew state-of-the-art surgical and patient tower.
University Health Network is enhancing and expanding the Toronto Western Hospital campus by building a new surgical and patient tower on the southeast corner of Bathurst and Nassau streets. This project is part of revitalizing the hospital that has served the Kensington community and patients from across Toronto and Ontario for more than 100 years. With 80 net new beds and state-of-the-art surgical suites and technology, the 15-storey tower will improve the patient experience and the working environment for the talented and dedicated healthcare teams who provide outstanding care. Planning for this project started in 2022, thanks to a $34 million planning grant from the Ontario government. Construction is scheduled to start in early 2024 and be completed in late 2027.
