Toronto (Oct. 9, 2007) - University Health Network (UHN) has been named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for the fifth consecutive year and one of the Top 50 Employers in the GTA for the second year.
"This is a landmark achievement that demonstrates our ability to continually provide an environment in which staff can thrive and achieve their own goals, while working towards UHN's vision of achieving global impact," said Dr. Bob Bell, president and CEO of UHN. "This is a testament to the staff and managers across the organization who make UHN a great place to work."
The Top 100 list is compiled by Mediacorp Canada, which reviews recruitment histories of over 60,000 employers from across the country. Only 10,000 of these employers are invited to apply for the award, with over 1,500 participating in the application process. Selection criteria include compensation, benefits, vacation, training programs, work environment, health and wellness programs and diversity initiatives.
This is the first year that employee survey data was included in the competition, making this achievement particularly significant. UHN's continued focus on developing leadership skills that enhance employee relationships and on recruitment and retention best practices have had a strong impact on our ranking.
