UHN is embarking on a new era, unveiling a refreshed brand that is bold, unmistakably Canadian and instantly recognizable.

With a red Maple Leaf and the words "Canada's Hospital," the new visual identity "reflects who we are today and where we're going tomorrow," Dr. Kevin Smith, UHN's President & CEO, says in a video message publicly announcing the brand refresh on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

"University Health Network is Canada's Hospital," Dr. Smith says. "And, it's not just a title — it's a privilege and a responsibility, one we've carried with pride, purpose and passion throughout the centuries of our history."

Calling the legacy of UHN "deep and hugely impactful across education, research and patient care," Dr. Smith says it's never been a place content with the status quo.

"We've always pushed the boundaries, asking what's next, how can we do better, how can we lead?" he says. "And, now we're ready to show the world what leadership looks like in a very tangible way and every day."

Kyla Kumar, UHN's Vice President of Communications and Brand Strategy, whose team led the months-long brand refresh process, notes that it included extensive engagement with clinical, research and education leaders, as well as UHN's hospital foundations.

"This reflects the full scope of who we are and what we do," she says. "It's world-class care, groundbreaking research and the education of tomorrow's health leaders, all working together, seamlessly, under one name: UHN.

"And, our new brand structure brings clarity and unity, so no matter where someone meets UHN — in a clinic, online, or halfway around the world — they understand the power and purpose behind our name."
