​​​​​This August, 1,608 athletes from 28 countries competing in 15 sports will take part in the largest Parapan Am Games ever, celebrating athletic achievements of some of the world's top para-athletes.​

To kick off the festivities, a Parapan Am Torch Relay celebration was held at Queen's Park in Toronto on Aug. 7. Dr. Gaétan Tardif, Medical Program Director, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and President of the Canadian Paralympic Committee, was greeted by excited cheers and applause as he carried the torch to Queen's Park.
