At UHN, the needs of patients come first.

That's not just a slogan, it the Primary Value of the new Purpose, Values and Principles, which was established through the work and input of people in all corners of the organization, including patients.

Between now and next Sunday, staff and UHN Patient Partners will be travelling across our sites to celebrate UHN's commitment to being compassionate, collaborative and responsive, and to showcase the work being done that illustrates how we're putting the needs of patients first.

It's UHN Patient Experience Week, an annual opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the programs and individuals impacting and improving the experience of patients daily.

UHN teams, patients and family caregivers are encouraged to visit an information booth for a chance to win prizes, have photos taken and discuss what patient experience means to you.

Come out to learn more about these exciting initiatives and many more that are highlights from UHN's Patient Experience portfolio:

  • myUHN Patient Portal
  • Patient Partnerships programs
  • Patient and Family Education
  • Interpretation and Translation Services
  • Bioethics at UHN
  • Employee recognition
  • Patient experience services
  • Volunteer recognition

Patients and family caregivers will also be able to register for myUHN Patient Portal and learn how they can partner with UHN to help shape care and service.

In addition to the information booths, Dr. Peter Pisters, UHN's President and CEO, will be leading a Town Hall to update UHN Patient Partners on the organization's strategic planning.

The Town Hall will be similar to the sessions Dr. Pisters has been conducting across UHN. The session will provide an opportunity for Patient Partners to learn more about UHN's goals as we move ahead together over the next three years.

The Town Hall will include presentations and a Question & Answer session with Dr. Pisters, Mike Nader, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and Dr. Joy Richards, Vice President Patient Experience and Chief Health Professions.

The booths will be set up across UHN at these sites, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily.
