Read the Princess Margaret Patient and Family Library pamphlet How to Find Good Quality Health Information on the Internet (PDF) for tips on how to navigate the internet.

Some questions to consider:
  • Is this web site on the subject you are interested in?
  • Who is in charge of the content of the site? A doctor? A company? An organization? A patient/survivor? etc.
  • Be careful when a site promises "amazing results”, or “secret cures”, or if they ask you for money.
  • Is there a date showing when an article was written or when the information was placed on the web?
