Our program has pioneered early palliative care (EPC) and research demonstrating its effectiveness. EPC refers to attention by your health care team to physical and psychological concerns early in the course of disease. EPC includes symptom control and advance care planning. Cancer patients receiving EPC experience less depression, better quality of life, and may survive longer than those receiving standard care.
