What We Do

A biventricular defibrillator implant involves inserting small computer-like device and lead system (3 leads) that respond to and treat rapid heart rhythms. By sending a pulse and occasionally a shock to interrupt a fast heartbeat, the device can treat slow heart rhythms in the same way as a pacemaker and may help the pumping of the heart chambers.

Biventricular defibrillator implants require light sedation and monitoring.  Patients are admitted for an overnight stay.
