Bank Machines
In the main lobby next to the business office.

Newspapers and Mailboxes
Newspapers are available in the Patient Library on the 2nd floor. A mailbox is located in the main lobby on the 2nd floor.

Internet, Phone and Television

Wi-Fi access is available throughout our site, on the Guest Wireless Network. A password is not needed to access the Guest Wireless Network.

Pay Phones
A public pay phone in the lobby is also available. You can call a taxi from the lobby pay phone or the patient/family courtesy phone in the Patient Library.

Taxi Phones
You can call a taxi from the pay phone on the 2nd floor or the patient/family courtesy phone in the Patient Library.

Bedside Phones
Bedside phones are not available at Bickle. You are welcome to bring your cell phone for use while in the hospital.


In-room television services are not available. You are welcome to bring a personal cell phone, tablet or laptop to connect to the UHN guest Wi-Fi.

Information, Security and Lost & Found

Information Desks

Information desks are located close to the entrances of all UHN facilities.

All hospital staff wear an identification badge showing their name, job title and department.

Hospital security officers are always on duty. If you notice any suspicious individuals, call hospital security and tell your nurse or any other staff member.

Lost & Found

If you have lost something, contact the security office. If you have found an item, you can contact one of our security offices or give it to any staff member.

Activities and Relaxation

Public Gardens
Location: Outside main entrance
Scent garden, park benches and gazebo.

Location: South of the building, accessible from the main floor
Flower bed, shaded trees and picnic tables.

Computer Centre
There is a Bickle Centre Patient computer room located beside the Patient Library on the 2nd (main floor)
Location: 200A off main lobby
Hours: 7:30 am – 9:00 pm, open 7 days a week

Location: 2nd Floor (Main Lobby) beside the entrance of the Patient Library.

Centre for Spiritual Reflection and Prayer
Location: Room 204, main floor
Hours: 7:30 am - 9:00 pm
Available for meditation and reflection

Weekly Activities
These activities are open for patients and visitors to join. Please ask the staff on your unit for more details. Our volunteers can also provide activities for the unit and at your bedside.

Patient & Family Library

Learn more about your health condition at the Patient and Family Library at the Bickle Centre. At the Library, you can:

  • Take home free brochures on health topics of interest and find other reading materials to use in the library
  • Look up online information in the computer room next to the library. Some computers have adaptive equipment to meet patients' needs.
  • Speak with a Consumer Health Librarian by calling the Sun Life Patient and Family Resource Centre at 416 597 3422 ext. 3956.

Location: Main floor (off the lobby)
Hours: 7:30 am to 9:00 pm, open 7 days a week

You can also participate in classes, download eBooks and get other valuable resources through the Patient & Family Education Program at UHN.
