 What We Do

The Tropical Disease Unit is widely recognized for our achievements in the field of tropical medicine. We have state-of-the-art facilities to diagnose and manage parasitic infections and illnesses in returned travellers, immigrants and refugees.

We treat conditions including, but not limited to:

  • Animal bites and rabies
  • Dengue fever
  • Diarrhea, rash, and respiratory tract infections after travel
  • Malaria
  • Parasitic infections
  • Typhoid fever

All travellers returning from the tropics with a fever should go directly to the Emergency Department. Fever in a returned traveller is considered a medical emergency and requires immediate medical attention. We will see you during clinic hours, after being assessed in the Emergency Department.
