Onboarding Process

The UHN New Employee Hub provides you with guidance and support as you join TeamUHN. The cards below show the steps in the onboarding process from when you receive your offer letter until your first day.


2 Weeks Prior to Start

Step 1: New employee submits signed offer letter
Step 2: New employee completes New Hire Form and submits
Step 3: New employee completes all pre-arrival tasks, with links to key resources and tools
Step 4: Once the New Hire Form is submitted, the new employee activates network credentials

1 Week Prior to Start

Step 5: New employee schedules and prepares for New Employee Orientation (NEO) session
Step 6: The hiring manager or designate/buddy reaches out to new employee with contact information and plan for their first day

Day 1

Step 7: New employee attends the NEO session; receives ID badge 
Step 8: New employee completes mandated eLearning training; accesses Employee Self Services Hub
Step 9: New employee begins their orientation to the department and role

In an effort to keep all patients and employees safe, we require all members of TeamUHN to submit an immunization record and health history to our Health Services department. You must complete the form and receive clearance before your start date.

Key UHN Policies and Codes need to be reviewed by every new employee prior to beginning their employment. By signing and returning an Offer Letter, a new employee has agreed to adhere to all items: UHN Policy and Code Handbook 

Finally, download the UHN New Employee Handbook  which will assist you to learn more about UHN, and will provide initial policies and tips for navigating UHN and working at UHN.

On your first day at UHN you will participate in corporate orientation, meet with your leader and have time to complete your corporate mandatory training courses.

In your offer letter you received an invitation to a virtual, live New Employee Orientation Session.

  • A help guide  to ensure you are able to join and participate.

By the end of your first day you must complete legally mandated training.

All new nurses and health professionals are required to complete UHN's Clinical Corporate Orientation (CCO), which includes a combination of virtual sessions, in-person sessions, and eLearning modules.
