The Flu Campaign is less than a week away and it's coming back with a twist.
Starting Monday, Oct. 19, you'll be able to receive the flu vaccine at a flu cart coming your way.
Last year, each time a UHN staff member received a flu shot UHN donated one vaccine to a child in a developing country through UNICEF Canada.
This year, we're increasing our global health and safety initiative.
Once again UHN will donate one essential vaccine to a child in a developing country through UNICEF Canada.
And this year - for every 50 flu shots UHN gives out, we'll also donate a five-month supply of clean water to a child in need by providing 73 water purification tablets through UNICEF.
This year, choosing prevention and getting the flu shot will help protect you, your family, our patients and children around the world.
In with the new…and in with the old!
As in past years, each staff member who receives a flu vaccine at a UHN flu cart will receive a full-sized chocolate bar.
On top of that, staff, physicians, students and volunteers at UHN will also be eligible to submit their name to be part of a weekly draw at each hospital. To include your name in the draw, get your flu shot and fill out a 'flu draw form.'
The winners of the weekly draw will be contacted on Mondays. Prizes include gift cards to shopping centres such as Sherway, Fairview, Yorkdale, Don Mills and Square One.
Let's get social
