Have you received your flu shot? Remember until December 12, 2014, UHN will donate a
shot of vaccine to a child in need for every flu shot a staff member receives. (Video: UHN YouTube)

Guess what UHN? The Flu Campaign has been extended until December 12!

That means more time for you to get your flu vaccine and protect yourself, those around you, and children around the world.

This year UHN has been working with UNICEF and will donate a vaccine to a child in need for every staff member who receives their flu vaccine.

If you’re a staff member who wishes to have your influenza vaccination somewhere other than at UHN, don’t worry! Just bring in the document linked below or other proof of vaccination to any of the flu carts or Occupational Health and Safety clinics and UHN can still donate a vaccine to UNICEF on your behalf.

To date, we’ve donated over nine thousand vaccines! And there is still time to increase our total.

To celebrate our success so far and learn more about UNICEF’s initiative, join us at Toronto General Hospital in the McEwen Atrium on Friday, November 28 at 10 a.m.

And if you haven’t received your flu vaccine yet, there will be a flu cart on hand.

To make getting your flu shot even easier, Occupational Health and Safety will be offering a concierge service to bring a flu cart to you. Staff requesting Concierge Service need to leave their name, phone number, location and requested time and date for the vaccine. Someone will call them back to confirm the appointment. Staff can call the following:

TGH: 14-3267

PMH: 16-2090

TWH: 13-5121

TR: 416 597.3422 x 3775

A new take hasn’t meant saying goodbye to old favourites. Each staff member who receives a flu vaccination at a UHN Flu Cart also receives a chocolate bar.  We have also continued the draws for gift certificates. For the December 5th and 12th draws we will be drawing two names from each UHN site.

Also, keep those flu vaccine selfies coming. Take a selfie getting the flu shot, post it to Twitter with the hashtag '#UHNFluVaccineSelfie' and tag @UHN_News. If you don't have Twitter, email us the photo at social@uhn.ca and we'll tweet your selfie for you!

So what do you say?

We’ll see you on Friday!

Let’s choose prevention, UHN.
