The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation announced more than 3,000 participants raised $6.1 million at the annual Rexall OneWalk to Conquer Cancer in support of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

"Nearly one in two Canadians will develop cancer in their lifetime and the funds raised through the Rexall OneWalk continue to help Princess Margaret Cancer Centre make transformational advances in personalized cancer medicine for patients here in Toronto, throughout Ontario, across Canada and around the globe," said Paul Alofs, President and CEO of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

The 2017 Rexall OneWalk is a 15, 25 or 40-kilometre walk throughout Toronto that brings together communities of survivors and their supporters who spend months fundraising and training in order to participate. Participants choose their distance and fundraise in support of the type of cancer that matters most to them.

Since 2003, the event has raised over $168 million for the Princess Margaret.
