We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those impacted by the fatal crash of Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752. 176 people were killed yesterday including 63 Canadians, and we have now learned that people close to UHN were among the lives lost: family members, friends, colleagues, students and academic collaborators. The loss is shocking and unbelievably tragic.

On behalf of UHN's Board of Trustees and Senior Management Forum, we extend our sympathy to those who are enduring the impacts of this horrific event. And as fellow Canadians, we stand with the Iranian community and grieve all the innocent lives lost.

UHN offers confidential counseling services for employees and their families through the Employee Assistance Program. It is free and available 24/7 by calling 1-800-387-4765. UHN also offers Spiritual Care which can be reached through the on-call pager system at number 416-719-1234.

Finally, we ask that everyone look out for one another at UHN during difficult periods like this. If you know a colleague who has been impacted, please do whatever you can – while respecting their wishes and privacy – to ensure they have the support they need. Thank you.
