Dear Colleagues,
As most of you know, our annual Flu Campaign is well underway. As of last Friday, TWH was in the lead for the trophy, followed by Toronto Rehab.
Our vaccination rates were strong last year, but we hope to exceed those numbers and now we have an extra incentive to help us reach that goal.
Toronto Public Health has issued a Flu Containment Challenge to all Toronto-area hospitals. As part of this campaign, health facilities with the highest and most improved health care worker vaccination rates will be formally recognized with a public award (categories are: acute care, rehab/complex continuing care, and long-term care).
In other words, our friendly competition between UHN sites has now been extended to include all hospitals in Toronto. This is our opportunity to lead by example and show, once again, that UHN is up to the challenge.
I've had my shot (you can check UHNews next week for the evidence) and I encourage all of you to do the same.
