Hi Everyone:

One of the most important parts of my job is to make sure that University Health Network is, and continues to be, a workplace of choice for staff. To do that, I rely on your feedback - through "Drop a Line to Bob," through informal chats in the hospital, and especially through the annual Employee Opinion Survey or "EOS."

Starting today, January 12, you can access the annual survey from the Corporate Intranet home page.

This "Pulse Survey" only includes seven questions and takes just a few minutes to complete. But the results will provide us with a strong indication of how we're doing and what progress we have made.

We realize that some employees do not have easy access to a computer, so paper copies of the survey will also be available in your unit or department. In either case, the survey will be anonymous and you won't be asked to include your name. The results will be confidentially tallied, and we will communicate the results once available.

As you may have heard, for the third year in a row, UHN was named to Canada's Top 100 Employers list. Actually, we're the only hospital in Ontario to be named in the 2006 edition - something we can all take pride in. I point this out because a big reason we made the list was due to changes in the workplace that resulted from your feedback in opinion surveys. I can't emphasize enough that your input does make a difference - it's essential to attracting and retaining the kinds of professionals who have made UHN such a special place to be.
