The Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation (TGWHF) and UHN are letting Torontonians live out their reality television fantasy with an Amazing Race around Toronto. The approach? This race is for a great cause: developing the knowledge and expertise in nursing-led patient-centred care right here at UHN.
Our nurses are global leaders in their field, providing competent, compassionate care to our patients and their families. Money raised from this event will support the Nursing Education Fund at TGWHF, developing programs that will enable our nurses to enhance their skills in patient care, assist with new career opportunities within the organization and support professional development.
Teams of five (a mix of nurse professionals and community supporters) will compete for three hours in a series of exhilarating and stimulating challenges throughout downtown Toronto and will have a staggered start, so that the elements of surprise in the challenges will be the same for all teams.
The UHN Amazing Race will take place on Saturday, May 15, 2010 and start at TGH. The race will run from 10 - 4 with a celebratory BBQ and award ceremony afterwards.
Spots are still available for teams to sign up and registration is free. Sponsorship options are also available and you can support a team with a donation.
