Dear Colleagues,
It gives me pleasure, and some pain, to let you know that Kevin Empey has been appointed Lakeridge Health's new President and Chief Executive Officer.
Kevin has been at University Health Network for ten years, most recently as Executive Vice President, Clinical & Support Services. Over that period he has supported the organization through enormous growth, the excitement of building projects, the success of a large campaign, and the development of new business opportunties. He has worked with three leaders -- Alan Hudson, Tom Closson and myself -- and he has mentored a number of individuals who have gone on to lead financial areas at other hospitals. I am very pleased that he has been chosen to lead Lakeridge and sorry to lose his talents and abilities at UHN. I have included the content of Lakeridge's media release at the bottom of this e-mail so that you may read about his new organization.
I know that Kevin will ensure a smooth transition and in the short term, after he leaves UHN in early July, his direct reports will report to me. Please join me in congratulating Kevin on his appointment and wishing him well in his new role.
