SHERLOCK is a research study at UHN’s Princess Margaret Cancer Centre that uses a simple blood test (“liquid biopsy”) to detect molecular residual disease (MRD)—tiny traces of cancer that may remain after treatment. By identifying MRD earlier, researchers aim to better understand cancer recurrence and explore ways to prevent it.

Get more insight into your health after treatmentThis study looks for tiny fragments of cancer in your blood that may not show up on scans, helping your care team better understand what is happening in your body.
Stay one step ahead of cancerFinding these early “clues” may help identify if cancer could come back sooner—so your doctors can monitor you more closely and consider next steps earlier.
