About the PM Lodge

The Princess Margaret Lodge (PM Lodge) is a self-care facility for out-of-town cancer patients who come to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre for treatment. The Lodge offers shared twin room accommodation, meals and transportation to hospital appointments at a reasonable cost. When space permits, family members can also stay.

How to Apply

To stay at the PM Lodge:

• You must be a patient at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre who meets the eligibility criteria (see below).
• Your oncologist or oncology healthcare team at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre must submit a Booking Request Form to the PM Lodge.
• The PM Lodge must approve your Booking Request Form and book your stay.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Able to walk up and down at least one flight of stairs without help.
2. Able to manage own personal care without assistance, including taking medications and attending appointments.
3. Scheduled for cancer treatment (i.e. radiation, chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant), consult, follow up appointments).
4. Over the age of 17.
5. Live outside the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). GTA is Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Markham.
6. Have a return address following stay at the PM Lodge.

Check-In Hours

Residents are required to register when they check in. Check-in can only occur during the following hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 8am to 8pm
• Friday: 8am to 4​pm
• Saturday to Sunday: 12pm to 8pm

Holiday check-in hours are 12pm – 8pm.

PM Lodge Amenities

Transportation to the Princess Margaret

The PM Lodge offers shuttle bus service for residents Monday to Friday (included in the accommodation fee). Please note that there is no shuttle bus service on weekends or holidays.

Meals

The PM Lodge offers residents three meals a day Monday to Friday (included in the accommodation fee). Please note that there is no meal service on weekends or holidays.

• Resource Centre with computer and printer access
• Fitness Facility with an elliptical machine, fitness bike and weights
• Laundry Facilities (coin/app operated)
• Social Activities such as Bingo, Music and Craft Nights
