Eaton Building - 2^nd Floor, in the Operating Room or Cardiovascular Investigations Unit

Patients are admitted to the Cardiac Short Stay Unit or the Cardiology Unit on the 5^th Floor, Munk Building.

What We Do

Pacemaker implants involve the insertion of a small compute- like device and lead system (1 or 2 leads) that responds to and treats slow heart rhythms. The pacemaker is implanted under the skin in the upper chest and the lead is threaded into the heart via a vein.

A pacemaker implant is done under anesthesia and monitoring. Same day or overnight admission is required.
