Our aim is to train the next generation of leaders in psychedelic medicine in Canada and beyond.
Education and training will include a certificate program with the Michener Institute of Education, as well as fellowships, electives for medical students and residents, professional development workshops, grand rounds, and public education.
Michener Foundations of Psychedelic Psychotherapy Program
Our flagship educational offering is an academically rigorous, culturally sensitive and patient-centred certificate program for health care providers in the delivery of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
Learning will include:
- A didactic component including Canadian-specific content and the Indigenous roots of this practice
- Experiential learning includes breathwork, role-plays, simulations and guided exercises
- Possibility to enroll in a trial to receive psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy as the participant pending approvals
- Apprenticeships where trainees treat their first cases with an experienced clinician as their co-therapist, and later treat cases under supervision
Graduates will join a growing community of practice for ongoing group supervision, workshops and training to maintain and deepen their expertise. The program launched in September 2022. Details of the program are available on the
