​The UHN division of Neuroradiology provides diagnostic and interventional techniques related to disorders affecting the brain, head and neck, and spine regions. We are also a quaternary referral centre for the diagnosis and management of:

  • Brain and spinal AVMs
  • Dural AV fistulae
  • Vascular malformations of the head and neck region
  • Intracranial Aneurysms

The Toronto Western Hospital is designated one of three primary stroke centres in the Greater Toronto Area for acute stroke diagnosis and treatment. Our Neuroradiology team also routinely performs stroke prevention techniques (extracranial and intracranial angioplasty and stenting).

In addition, we provide:

  • Minimally invasive procedures include:
    • Spinal Biopsies
    • Vertebroplasty
    • Kyphoplasty
    • Nerve and Facet Blocks
  • In collaboration with the Hospital for Sick Children:
    • Pediatric Interventional procedures (Galen Malformation)
    • Pediatric AVF and AVMs
    • Pediatric Aneurysms
