Our research program focuses on resolving the pathogenesis and defining the optimal management of ankylosing spondylitis (AS).
The basic science approaches include molecular biology, genomics and proteomics as applied to animal models of AS and to immunophenotyping of cells from AS patients.
The clinical studies include defining prognostic factors in AS, response profiles to biologic agents, and decision analysis in diagnostic algorithms.

Dr. Kapoor is the Co-Director of the Schroeder Arthritis Institute. He is the Tony and Shari Fell Platinum Chair in Arthritis Research - Canada Research Chair (Tier 1), a Professor at the University of Toronto and a Senior Scientist at the Krembil Research Institute.
