Spring is a time for renewal and UHN is kicking off our Purpose, Values and Principles Open Houses today.

Reflecting the rejuvenating sunshine and great bursts of leaves returning to trees, the open house has a tree theme. It is an event open to all in the UHN community - staff and patients alike.

There are a total of seven open houses being held across UHN over the next couple of weeks, beginning today at Toronto Rehab's Bickle Centre. The intent is to gather thoughts on the proposed new UHN Purpose and Values.

The format is interactive and fun. There will be coffee and tea upon arrival, followed by an easy and quick interactive activity at the two purpose and value stations. Colourful dots and leaves will be given to people to post up on the board indicating their reaction to the statements they see, as well as a comments box.

The visit should take about 10 minutes, but participants are welcome to stay and mingle to share their thoughts on how UHN can live out its proposed purpose and values.

Once the open houses wrap up, the thoughts of participants will be incorporated into the final UHN Purpose, Values and Principles, which will be shared in June at the Annual General Meeting.
