I'm happy to tell you about another exciting development at UHN. On July 1, 2011, UHN Rehabilitation Solutions will officially change its name to Altum Health.
Why Altum Health?
Altum Health, which stands for "reaching new heights," captures the spirit of the new brand: to reach beyond rehabilitation services and deliver a full range of health care services. This includes prevention, acute care and surgical care in addition to rehabilitation services.
UHN RS started in 1989 as a WSIB Regional Evaluation Centre at TWH. The name Rehabilitation Solutions was adopted in 1997 and since then they have expanded beyond TWH with clinics in Cambridge, Mississauga and Sudbury. In November 2011, further growth will occur with a clinic set to open in Ottawa. The move to Altum Health is the next step in the evolution of UHN RS. Altum Health will remain a full part of UHN and all revenues it generates flow back to UHN. The new Altum Health logo incorporates the three leaves of UHN's identity thereby visually maintaining the affiliation with UHN. Under the leadership of Dr. Nizar Mahomed and Mary Hall, Altum Health's mandate is to expand its customer base while continuing to deliver the highest quality medical services.
The Altum Health motto – "The Right Care. Always." – is the basis of this health care model. It means patients seeing the right physician at the beginning of the process, having timely access to clinical assessments, the proper diagnosis and the best course of treatment.
The website www.AltumHealth.ca will go live on July 4, and I encourage you to check out the site to learn more about their medical services and excellent client care. The next few months will be very exciting as Altum Health positions itself as a leader in health care delivery.
