High-Precision Image-Guided Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IG-IMRT)

Patients with primary tumours of the bladder or prostate receive high-quality IG-IMRT treatment designed for their individual cases. Our technologies include advanced imaging techniques, state-of-the-art linear accelerators, dosimetry tools and treatment design workstations.

Multidisciplinary Bladder Cancer Clinic

Princess Margaret/Toronto General established the Bladder Clinic in 2007 with the goal of providing patients and their families with expert advice on the range of treatment options available for locally advanced bladder cancer. The clinic’s multidisciplinary approach means that we are able to offer surgical and other treatment options, including bladder preservation and reconstruction.

Multidisciplinary Testis Cancer Clinic

The Testis Cancer Clinic at Princess Margaret, the largest of its kind in Canada, provides a multidisciplinary, inter-professional approach to treatment. Providing both multimodality treatment and monitoring for early disease, our approach is tailored to meet the needs of individuals with cancer and their families.

Prostate Centre

The Princess Margaret Prostate Centre is one of the largest multidisciplinary clinics in Canada focusing on the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer. The centre has been recognized internationally as a centre for excellence and acts as the hub for our entire genitourinary oncology program. Our physicians, nurses and allied health workers provide information, treatment and support for patients with prostate cancer or other genitourinary malignancies in one location.

Robotic Surgery

Surgical management is a key element in the care of patients with genitourinary malignancies. Our surgical oncologists provide leading-edge care – our centre was one of first in Canada to offer minimally invasive and robotic surgery. We are now the largest program in Canada with 4 robots in place.

Seed & High-Dose Brachytherapy

The Department of Radiation Oncology has a well-established and active prostate brachytherapy service that provides state-of-the-art clinical care in the context of an active research program. Along with a mature seed therapy program, we also offer high-dose-rate brachytherapy in a clinical trial setting.
