About the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC)

NEDIC is Canada's source for eating disorder education and support. We guide people to trustworthy information and resources relevant to their needs. Our aim is to connect communities and care providers for the benefit of every body.

NEDIC's vision is eating disorder education, information, resources, and support for all. Our work consists of:

  • Providing information, referrals and support through our website and helpline
  • A searchable free online directory of more than 700 resources and treatment services in Canada
  • Educational resources and other print materials that you can take away, including brochures, manuals and posters
  • Community education, delivered to elementary, middle, high school, and post-secondary students, parents and educators, and other professionals
  • Beyond Images, a turn-key curriculum developed for grades 4 through 8 that fills a gap in media literacy education nationally
  • Eating Disorder Awareness Week (February 1-7), an annual event to raise awareness and foster understanding about eating disorders while challenging stigma

NEDIC is a program of the University Health Network. Fundraising for NEDIC is coordinated through the UHN Foundation.
