Patient navigators can guide you and your supporters through
diagnosis, treatment and beyond
Our navigators meet you where you are in your journey and can answer any questions you have. Our navigators are active members of your healthcare team, assessing and addressing immediate issues and needs, and providing additional resources to support you with your journey through UHN and in the community.
Meet Olivia
Olivia works in the Toronto Western Hospital Emergency Department. Olivia can:
- attend appointments with you
- explain the health care journey and what to expect
- make referrals
- help connect you with financial, spiritual or social supports
- arrange traditional and cultural supports:
- Smudging
- Drumming
- Pipe Ceremony
- consultation with Elder, Healer or Knowledge Keeper
- providing traditional medicines and ceremonial items
