Patient Pillow Program

Cardiac patients at UHN receive operations for all matters related to the heart and are left with a large incision on their chest.  Pillows are provided to the patients to ease the pain when they leave the hospital and return to their day-to-day activities such a s wearing a seat belt or dressing.  Cardiac pillows cushion the incision area and allow for a more comforatble recovery.

This is a hands-on role and does not require interaction with patients, their families and visitors.  It directly reports to the supervising staff at Volunteer Resources.  It is important that Patient Pillow volunteers have great attention to detail and are willing to work with their hands.Completed Paitent Pillows
