Toronto (July 8, 2014) – The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre announces the appointment of six of its world-renowned physicians to leading positions at several preeminent medical journals.
"The outstanding achievements of these doctors in the field of cardiovascular medicine, surgery and imaging is further evidence of the international leadership recruited and housed within the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at UHN (University Health Network) family," says Dr. Barry Rubin, Medical Director, Peter Munk Cardiac Centre. "We are incredibly proud of these physicians whose expertise and work are foundational to the innovative research, groundbreaking treatments and improved patient outcomes in cardiac and vascular care which are central to our mission."
Six physicians, including a cardiologist, two cardiovascular surgeons, a cardiovascular radiologist, an interventional radiologist and a pathologist ― part of a medical team that treats more than 55,000 patients annually ― are among those appointed to these prestigious posts. They include:

The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre is the premier cardiac centre in Canada. Since it opened in 1997, the Centre has saved and improved the lives of cardiac and vascular patients from around the world.
