Our UHN programs and services are among the most advanced in the world. We have grouped our physicians, staff, services and resources into 10 medical programs to meet the needs of our patients and help us make the most of our resources.
University Health Network is a health care and medical research organization in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The scope of research and complexity of cases at UHN has made us a national and international source for discovery, education and patient care.
Our 10 medical programs are spread across eight hospital sites – Princess Margaret, Toronto General, Toronto Rehab’s five sites, Toronto Western – as well as our education programs through the Michener Institute of Education at UHN. Dragon Medical One is a secure, cloud-based
speech recognition solution that allows clinicians to document the complete patient story using their voice.
A small number of clinicians will trial the software and workflow as part of a pilot project. This pilot phase will run from March 31 - April 30, 2021.
Front-end dictation allows users to dictate directly into the electronic patient record (EPR) which enables fast, real-time documentation. Front-end dictation also reduces turnover time, allowing users to quickly review and edit their dictation as they go. Speech recognition will be launched with EPR and can be used for free text fields within EPR.
PowerMic Mobile allows you to use your iPhone or Android smartphone as a secure wireless microphone for dictation with EPR. This application has been developed by Nuance for use with their desktop Dragon Medical One (Dragon) speech recognition application.
