Princess Margaret Staff BBQ
This week the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation are co-hosting their staff appreciation barbecue on Wednesday, July 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event is being held at Orde Street Public School and promises to be a fun time with games and live music, celebrating the fantastic staff at Princess Margaret – please note, to join the festivities you will need to bring your photo ID. I hope you can make it out!
Continuing Education at Michener – and a discount for UHN staff
Continuing Education (CE) at the St. Patrick Campus of the Michener Institute of Education at UHN has a rich history of providing excellent learning programs for health care professionals, with nine certificate courses and over 100 specialty courses available. CE is part of Michener’s Collaborative and Transformative Learning portfolio, which brings together expertise in personalized, online and team-based learning to provide educational programs, resources and consultation services that ultimately support better outcomes for patients and caregivers.
CE recently launched their 2017-18 course brochure, which highlights a variety of programs at the St. Patrick Campus. These include maintenance of competence (e.g. Advanced Cardiac Life Support), advanced practice education (e.g. Diabetes Educator Certificate and Musculoskeletal Sonography) and professional development in niche areas (e.g. clinical research and quality laboratory management).
