I hope you had a very happy Canada Day.

On June 25th UHN celebrated its own important milestone – the Michener Institute's convocation ceremonies. This is the first class to graduate following our integration with Michener. Judith John was the key note speaker and she shared important insights from her career as a healthcare professional as well as what she's learned as a patient and a caregiver. It was an inspiring and uplifting day. You can take a look for yourself by visiting the Convocation 2016 Facebook album here.

UHN marked another important milestone last Friday, July 1st – UHN became a smoke-free campus. Smoking tobacco products and electronic cigarettes is no longer permitted anywhere on UHN grounds. This change is aligned with regulations under the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, but more importantly it's consistent with our goals of supporting good health and wellness. Our smoking cessation steering committee has been working hard to transition UHN to a smoke-free organization, and we all have an important role to play in ensuring our UHN campuses are smoke-free environments. We are also committed to supporting individuals looking to quit through resources available at UHN and through community partners.
