PVP Website

Since launching our refreshed Purpose, Values & Principles (PVP) we have been hard at work to embed our PVP into organization. UHN’s PVP is now part of our performance evaluation, partners in care service standards and guides hiring practices. To support this work, we have developed an Intranet site, where you will find a number of tools and resources, pictures from the PVP launch photo booth and the video we shared at the AGM. You can find all of that and more here.

Celebrating Canada 150 with a new Podcast

Earlier this year, I sent out a message celebrating our diverse community - as a country, a city and as Canada’s research hospital. Now, for Canada 150, we are telling UHN’s stories to celebrate our diversity as a national asset to this country. Every week on our new podcast, Home, we’ll be profiling UHN employees who have come to Canada from around the world and found a new home in this country and at UHN. We are also looking for the stories of employees from our indigenous communities whose families have called Canada home for thousands of years. You can subscribe to the podcast on iTunes or follow along on the UHN website starting this Thursday, June 29th. I hope you tune in!

With Canada celebrating a milestone birthday this weekend, I’ve been reflecting on how fortunate we are to call this place home. UHN’s roots date back to 1819 when planning started for Toronto General Hospital—almost 50 years before Canadian Confederation. Since then, we have continued to make our mark in Canadian history by growing into an incredible community renowned for our accomplishments and contributions to Canadian health care. With this in mind, I am so excited to celebrate Canada Day this year, and I hope you have a wonderful Canada Day weekend.
