What Does It Mean To Be A Patient Partner?
As a Patient Partner, you:
- Support and commit to
UHN’s Declaration of Values
- Attend orientation and training
- Gain support from a staff partner, to ensure you are well prepared to contribute to meetings and other engagement opportunities
- Attend meetings and other engagement opportunities
- Focus on the goals and objectives of the specific project in which you are participating
- Commit to improving care and service related to the project goals
- Participate actively in meetings, by sharing your story, feedback, experiences and opinions
Who Can Become A Patient Partner?
We are interested in recruiting UHN patients and caregivers who are:
- Living well in the community with their health condition
- Able to attend daytime and early evening meetings
- Coping well with their hospital experience
- Able to listen well and enjoy working with others
- Able to attend supportive education and skill-building sessions that prepare them for this partnership
- Willing to talk about their experience, to help shape care and service
