How to Get Referred

You need a referral from your doctor or transplant coordinator to see a psychiatrist, mental health nurse or social worker from the Transplant Psychosocial Team.

How Long Does a Referral Take?

Usually you will be contacted by either a coordinator or a receptionist with you appointment time. If you are out of town we will try our best to schedule you when you are scheduled for another appointment at Toronto General. Patients are usually seen within two to four weeks of the referral. If the referring doctor feels the visit is more urgent, you could be seen sooner. Call your transplant coordinator if you do not receive information about your appointment within two weeks.
