What will happen on the day of my operation?
  • After check-in, we will prepare you for the operation.
  • If you did not see the anesthetist in the Pre-Admission Clinic, you will meet them before your operation.
  • You will then be brought to the operating room.
  • Eye drops will be put in your eyes.
  • You will be given either local or general anesthesia. This will prevent you from feeling pain, and you will see nothing or very little of the operation.
  • A device will be put on your eye to keep it open.
  • The surgeon will perform the appropriate procedure: PKP, DALK, DSEK or DMEK.
